The window was cleaned yesterday. Butler did it, and no bad job either. Now we can watch without the debris distorting or blocking the view. It’ll be filthy again soon enough. That’s how it always is. The Observed can’t keep it clean.
The show begins. We switch views easily with a single handclap.
Clap. New house.
Clap. New not-a-person.
Clap. New bomb.
Clap. New family.
We see it falling apart. We laugh, marvel, cry, insult, discuss, pry, idealize, despair, misunderstand. We do not learn, not anymore. There are only so many mistakes to learn from before we learned it all.
